What are contact discharge and air discharge?
Contact discharge applies by contacting the metal parts of the EUT, and air discharge applies by approaching the non-metal parts of the EUT. These are differences in operation modes. Contact discharge uses a conical discharge tip, and air discharge uses a round discharge tip.
