The IEC 61000-4-4 standard was originally published as IEC 801-4 in 1988 by IEC TC65 (Industrial Process Control). To apply this to all electronic equipment, IEC 1000-4-4 was published in January 1995, and from January 1997, 60000 was added so that numbers would not overlap between ISO and IEC, resulting in the designation IEC 61000-4-4.
