Please tell me about the test voltage when conducting air discharge testing under IEC 61000-4-2 Ed.2.
In the case of air discharge testing, the standard specifies that the designated test level and all lower levels should be performed. The reason is that at low levels (e.g., 2kV) and high levels (e.g., 8kV), the discharge destination of the air discharge changes. At low voltages, it discharges to the nearest conductor, but at high voltages, the discharge location changes to a conductor with lower impedance even if it is farther away.
