[Option] About discharge tip 12-00010A

Q. Details
A gap discharge test was performed using discharge tip 12-00010A with CR unit: 0Ω-500pF.
1) The discharge tip (gap section) has become blackened. Is it acceptable to continue using it as is?
2) When using discharge tip 12-00010A with CR unit: 0Ω-500pF, what condition generally occurs?
3) When using discharge tip 12-00010A with CR unit: 0Ω-500pF and testing at ±13 kV, ±15 kV, and ±18 kV, black soot-like material adhered to the discharge gap
section. Is it acceptable to clean it?

A.
1) It is not specifically prohibited, but compared with 150 pF-330?, the energy during discharge is larger, so deterioration such as carbonization of the electrode and wear are expected to occur more quickly.
2) We have not performed measurement with 0?-500pF, but in general terms, the energy during discharge becomes larger.
3) As an example, clean the gap section with a thin item such as a cotton swab, taking care not to damage the electrode section. After cleaning, please wipe it dry to remove moisture.
