Before judging it to be a malfunction, check the trigger setting of the electrostatic discharge simulator main unit.

Representative electrostatic discharge simulators
[ESS-200AX / 2000]
Press the MODEL key to display the menu screen.
↓
Select 0 Auxiliary (0 UTILITY).
↓
On the *UTILITY screen, select 0 MISCELLANEOUS to call up the function setting screen.
↓
Move the setting frame to the TRIGGER item and confirm that it is set to GUN TRIGGER.
* The trigger setting can be changed by turning the rotary knob.
[ESS-2000AX]
Check TRIGGER from the MENU screen and confirm that it is set to GUN.
* The trigger setting can be changed by pressing the F5 switch.
[ESS-2002]
Confirm that GUN is selected with the trigger selection switch.
* If the adjacent CONTROLLER is selected, discharge is performed by pressing the CONTROLLER switch.
[ESS-S3011A]
Confirm that the TRIGGER setting in the main menu item is set to GUN.
* The trigger setting can be changed by turning the rotary knob.
[ESS-B3011/B3011A]
Confirm that the GUN/CONT switch LED is lit.
* Each time the GUN/CONT switch is pressed, the setting switches alternately.
